PRIX OSIPOVA ANNOUNCES THE CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY EDITION 2026

    PRIX OSIPOVA

    CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND
    – The Prix Osipova International, founded by internationally acclaimed ballet star and Royal Ballet Principal Dancer Natalia Osipova alongside General and Artistic Director Anna Koblova, is thrilled to announce the launch of the PRIX OSIPOVA – Cambridge International Contemporary Edition 2026.

Organized in partnership with Bodywork Company Dance Studios, this special edition is dedicated exclusively to contemporary dance. The event will take place in person on 29 and 30 August 2026 in Cambridge, England, serving as a premier global platform to promote international artistic exchange, encourage excellence in contemporary creation, and identify outstanding artists within the global dance community.
An Expansive Platform for Professional Artists
The Cambridge Edition is open to professional artists worldwide who are 18 years of age or older. The competition is structured across three distinct categories:
Solo and Duo (In-Person): Live performances judged by a distinguished international jury composed of choreographers, directors, and dance critics.
Video Dance (Virtual): A global, virtual category challenging artists to create an audiovisual work up to 1 minute and 30 seconds based on the theme “AIR”. These works will be exhibited during the event and open to a public vote via the official website.
Beyond the Stage: A Comprehensive Artistic Experience
The Prix Osipova is committed to providing more than a traditional competition format. Participants in Cambridge will have access to a complementary programme designed for professional development and creative exchange. This includes specialized workshops, artistic discussions, and cultural interventions throughout the city.
A major highlight of the 2026 programme is an exclusive collaboration with visual artist Jane Frost. Selected dancers will be invited to participate in her project, “Dancing with Your Shadow,” establishing a unique dialogue between contemporary movement and the visual arts. Additionally, participants will collaborate with audiovisual professionals to produce short films during the event, which will premiere at the closing ceremony.
    Awards and Global Opportunities
Recognizing and elevating talent is at the core of the Prix Osipova mission. Exceptional artists will be considered for:
Ten coveted places in the Prix Osipova Final in London (for Solo and Duo participants).
The presentation of ten selected Video Dance works at the Opening Ceremony of the London Final.
Cash Prize Awards for the Best Choreographic Work and the Best Short Film.
Professional invitations and exclusive Artistic Residency opportunities.
    Application Details
Applications are officially open to international candidates and will close on 20 July 2026. All rules, guidelines, and official registration forms are available at the official website.
